Do NOT let lips dry. Use a thin Aquaphor or coconut oil on lips only. Always use clean Q-tips. Do not use fingers to apply ointment.
Use ice for swelling. Use a cloth barrier between lips and ice.
Apply a thin layer of ointment to lips several times a day for at least 14 days post-procedure. Just tap on lips, do not rub in.
Lips will become flaky. Do NOT pick or scratch them.
Continue taking antiviral or lysine supplement as prescribed by your primary care provider.
It is important to follow ALL aftercare instructions to ensure pigment remains.

Cotton masks. Smoking. Vaseline. Kissing. Sun exposure. Saunas. Steam. Vigorous exercise. Pressure to lips. Spicy/oily/salty/acidic foods. Excessive exercise/sweating.

DAY 1 (day of procedure)
Lips can bruise after procedure, but should subside in 24 hours.
It is crucial to remove lymph fluid from the surface to avoid scabbing. Before bed, if the lips still have dry lymph - rinse with lukewarm water, pat dry and apply ointment.
DAY 2 - 10
The lips may remain swollen for another couple of days. Keep the lips moisturized at all times. Do NOT let lips dry out. Apply ointment to the lips every 30 minutes.
Color will fade during the healing process. It will take 6-8 weeks to heal and another 6-8 weeks after your touch-up to see final results.
6-8 WEEKS
Your touch-up appointment is intended to make any adjustments needed.
Once fully healed, wear SPF 30 sunscreen to preserve color for longer.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF INFECTION** include but are not limited to: severe redness, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent drainage from the procedure site. Discharge from site may be green/yellow in color and foul in odor.
